Once-legendary (?) [create Document Preparation System]. Interleaf, Inc. has been founded by Bahram Niamir, who worked on Etude before.

"Originally based on the MIT Etude project, and first offered for sale in 1984, Interleaf software was one of the earliest commercial WYSIWYG compound document systems. It was externally object-oriented from the beginning, with a rigorous noun-verb model for its user interface. However, it was not made fully extensible until the current major release (5.x), first available in 1990."
