But seriously, the `Spending time in the aviation world ....' quote strikes me as a wonderful example of `seemingly profound thought that on a little reflection obviously isn't'. Anyone who'd think the problems of running an organization and those of flying a plane are of the same category probably isn't much of a candidate to do either very well. I might believe someone who said they had a test that could discriminate between adequate and inadequate pilots. But I wouldn't believe any such claim about a test that could discriminate between adequate and inadequate managers.
