Some people come to the party late. Udell's remarks are eerily similar to some remarks another of the seven dwarves (Doc Searls) made last May when he also saw the early signs of this sea change. Problem is, since May, Apple sales don't seem to following this path. The iMacs, no longer the `design darlings' that some loved in January are gathering considerable dust in Apple stores, even though their price has been dropped. Apple has moved from profit into loss, and AAPL, at $24-$25 in May is now at $14 and change, a little lower than it was in 1990. If I understood the data presented on Apple's Conference Call last Wednesday, store sales are only averaging about $7k/day/store. So if it's a `sea change', it looks to me like it's an ebb tide...
