To Eberhard's point, I have had a Canon 3.3megapixel camera and an iPAQ 36xx for a couple of years now. And my 1GB CF disk serves for storing up to about 1000 pix without any external power. And it's trivial to move around in either a CF or PCMCIA slot. Admittedly 1Gb is no 20Gb, but for the camera/pda/compuer bit it not only works fine, it has been around _forever_. That's why there seems to be less here to me than meets the eye. I guess what I don't get is the value of the `wireless' thing, in my situations it's _always_ easy to run a one meter RJ45 cable if I need to `hook up to a net'...
