Oh, I have to add, that Mr. Earl is right. But there are other not even small companies having still a lot of business logic and rules "implemented" in Excel. But I would like to add that this is kinda okay for the "special" cases you have in daily business. It is more cost effectiv to do it in Excel than implementing it in other systems. If this is fine is not a question of business supporting technology rather than a question of how detailed you have defined your business. It is very often the case that even big companies create due a lack of understanding a lot of "special" cases which you can handle more easily with Excel than with other systems...
