This is something of a rhetorical question, but why do projects such as TMAPI (which is great, don't get me wrong) talk about an "open, standard API" when it's almost always designed for Java. The API design and associated UML are geared towards various Java "features", such as the need for interface classes, or compulsary static typing. I might feel a little better about it if they were up front about it and asserted that this is a Java(tm) API project, and that users of other, more agile, languages will have to go make their own that better fit their language of choice. |
