What good are JavaServer Faces? — Could it have been any other way? Probably not.
Addendum: The Road to RSS 3.0, by Aaron Swartz. Yes!
REBOL Parser for RSS 3.0, dasselbe in K ;-)
David Ness 8206 days AGO Maybe this isn't the right place to discuss it, but does anyone actually `know' Winer? His writing makes me think he is startlingly ignorant as well as startlingly self-absorbed and self-important, but that could be a misunderstanding based on my `not seeing his good side'. From what I see, he is exactly the one guy I would not want to put `in charge of standards' and yet he always seems to be lurking around that sphere of interest somewhere. Can anyone point me in the direction of understanding this all better?
chris 8205 days AGO I fear I cannot. To his credit, I guess it's him who did the most to evangelize RSS after Netscape lost interest — the question is, does this give him the right to retroactively take over RSS evolution AND accuse everyone else of "theft" (!)? Is the first thief, to use his idiom, any special?
David Ness 8205 days AGO Thanks. That's a help. And I guess we do give `first thief' special status. At least that's one way of explaining how Apple's theft of the PARC interface counts as `innovation' rather than simple `theft'....
