Vor einer guten Woche bei Mariann aufgeschnappt, seitdem spukt das Bild des im Konzeptraum schwebenden vielhaxerten Begiffs in regelmässigen Abständen in meinem Kopf herum — besser & amüsanter als Heinz von Foerster kann man das wohl kaum formulieren:

"Wir haben das so gesehen, daß jedes Wort, jeder Begriff so ausschaut wie ein vielfußiges Element, das nach allen Richtungen seine Konnektivitäten ausstreckt und mit anderen solchen vielfüßigen Elementen in Verbindung bringt. Und die Operationen bestehen darin, neue Verbindungen zu finden, die grammatisch kontrolliert werden und als Sprache herauskommen, aber konzeptuell konnektiert, so daß sie verbunden sind durch eine semantische interne Struktur. Das heißt, jeder Begriff ist für uns ein vielfältiger Rechner, der sich mit anderen Rechnern in Verbindung setzt. Damals hat das niemand verstanden, vielleicht habe ich es auch nicht gut dargestellt. Aber heute taucht das überall auf, semantic computation, mit lauter parallelen Maschinen, die alle gleichzeitig arbeiten und ihre Verbindungen herstellen. Unser Problem war damals schon: könnte man irgendetwas machen, um in natürlichen Sprachen mit einer Maschine sprechen zu können."

Alan Kay: 'When I was thinking about this in the 60s (and motivated by contacts with biology, math, computers, TSS, Sketchpad, Simula, Lisp, the start of the [create ARPAnet], and a remark by Robert Barton, the designer of the B5000: "The basic principle of recursive design is to make the parts have the same power as the whole", it occured to me that "the whole" was an entire computer, and it would be very interesting to make "the parts" also be entire computers (as opposed to things that weren't whole computers, such as data structures and procedures).'

She was not amused when they studied the procedures MOTHERFORKER, FATHERFORKER, and the name of the queue from which their offspring were sprung (three guesses what it was...). Her site demanded it be removed. The coders who put it in were almost fired."
