John Battelle: "I think folks aren't loyal, they're lazy."

I wonder whether that applies to markets in general ... might inertia be a generally better model for customers sticking around than loyalty? (And: How are measures for increasing inertia different from those intended to increase loyalty?)Looks interesting: CleverCS, "A Forum For Clever Computer Science Ideas".

inertia: as long as there's no better product, I'll stick
->make people believe there's no better

loyalty: I know there's better products, but this is more ethical, nicer, whatever
-> find other things to touch the emotion of people

inertia: even though I know there's a better product, heck I'm too lazy to [ go out and get it | go through the hassle and install it | get to know it | get a new set of add-ons/applications &c. ] ...

inertia: absolutely yes, until your investment has been written off. And how do you write off usage know how. Change Oses or the Desktop often and you know why. All the shortcuts in your nervous system turn stale instantanously. only when the other product is a lot cheaper and 3 times as good u consider to throw away your knowledge and that secure feeling.
