Aus developer-perspektive halte ich OS X für die zur zeit sinnvollste plattform. Aber wie sagte schon buckminster fuller: you either make sense or you make money :(

mir kommt vor apple hat realisiert, dass sie den developers gute default tools vor- bzw. mitgeben können. beispiele sind das immer mächtiger, ähm wordiger, werdende textarea, webcore, oder die filter und spotlight aus der keynote.

was ich am interessantesten finde sind die super apis und technologien (nextstep und beyond, quartz, fonts, rendezvous). ne gute api ist SOVIEL wert, und woanders sehe ich nur X und MFC.

und nachdem developer auch user sind:

+ it ships with the 'it works' option (bill joy)
+ creative apps
+ unix apps (das ist kein developer-pluspunkt :))
+ ergonomie + ästhetik
+ shillermania! :)

die frage ist nur: ist der mac markt von 25 millionen macs gross genug? so wie ich sie nämlich kenne sind mac-user notorische mehrmacbesitzer und in raubkopierzirkeln organisiert.

Only 5 percent use Macs, the top five. (Unteranderm besitzt auch der Herr chris einen Apfel, kann ihn aber nicht bedienen)
