Februar 2006 Darcs or Subversion?Michael Platzer looked at the database requests generated by Twoday; some very interesting results: A lot of time is spent in SELECT_IDS (could that be optimized? LIMITs?), also day and topic grouping is rather expensive. Quite amazing how Helma makes it possible to run tens of thousands of dynamic sites on a fairly moderate configuration (AFAIK, still only two machines). The wonders of caching!Michi's R-jockeying reminded me of my long-standing plan to write about some of the nuggets that digging through the retrievr log files netted. In the meantime, you might want to check out some of the features we've added over the past few weeks:
