"However, a true AI would be considerably more valuable than $1000."
| slauti 6781 days AGO "In the meantime, purely synthetic computer-based artificial intelligence has been proceeding apace, beating Kasparov at chess, proving a thorny new mathematical theorem that had eluded any human mathematician, and driving off-road vehicles 100 miles successfully, in the past decade."
Well, this debate that was strong years and then years ago should be taken up again and many more people should read this article and discuss what it says and all the consequences. It does not seem to happen.
I think the consequences Herbert Frank predicted in the Dune sequel, namely an anti machine computing rear view mirror revolution is more likely than either Kaczynski or Joy on the pessimistic or Asimov on the optimistic side predicted. Anti computer agression in humans is building up fast now and the industry is ever furthering it without really knowing a way out. Let's look into that problem. |
