And good for both sides: I doubt the long-term business outlook of such specialty tool companies (it's clear that sooner or later an OpenGL equivalent for GPU-style parallel processing will spring up and/or get traction, the incentives for that to happen are just too big), especially of those not targeting a particular niche (i.e. game companies, like Neoptica) or providing complete solutions (e.g. to the bio-tech or finance industries), Google gets some seriously undercommoditized know-how (and they being the prime profiteurs of embarrassing parallelism probably know rather well how and where to employ it). no comments Please log in (you may want to register first) to post comments! |
