Google acquires Jaiku.

A fine microblogging service, but probably more important is the fact that on phones, it's a presence-aware contact list, and that's something darn cool.

"Activity streams and mobile presence are important areas where we believe Google can add a lot of value for users."

In not completely unrelated news, Dave Winer notes: "Feedburner reports that 609K people subscribe to the TechCrunch feed. When I got a prominent link from a TechCrunch piece on September 30, it generated 228 hits [...]."

Something's fishy in the land of completely opaque pseudo-metrics.

Das Tolle an der Jaiku Geschichte ist, dass Kontakt-DB und GSM-Location hacken praktisch jeder kann. Zumindest jeder mit einem Symbian Zertifikat. Hab mir heute ein gratis DevCert zugelegt (geht eh relativ schnell und einfach). Damit darf ich auch in die geschützen Ecken von meinem (allerdings eben leider nur meinem) Handy:

seltsame kraefte wirklich. mir steten schmerz bereitet die S60 vs UIQ sache, bin da scheinbar mit meinem geraet auf der falschen seite gelandet. das gras am S60 huegel schaut gruener aus ...
