John Resig: Future of Firefox and JavaScript

The future is Helmatic (yay!), offline and three-dimensional (and it appears to involve pixel shaders [!]). The Open Web (2007-04-16-reName) seems to be nicely on track.

Zach Beane: "MCL was a cutting-edge GUI Common Lisp environment for the Mac. It is second only to [create Lisp Machine] environments at inspiring its aging users to sneer at the idiot Lispers who think command-line tools and terminal-based editors and [create Tk] bindings are cool."

Despite the moon-sized grain of salt that comes with it, there's some truth to its depiction of the sorry state of (cross-platform) user interface construction kits in Lispland. Sadly.
